Coming Soon to North Katy
The Oak at Katy Park, a new luxury multifamily community, has begun construction as a key part of The Market at Katy Park, a 54-acre master-planned development. This groundbreaking event took place in early December, marking a significant milestone for the area.
Located opposite Morton Ranch Rd. from Katy Park at Katy Fort Bend Rd, The Oak at Katy Park promises a mid-2025 completion, as announced in a December 11 news release by Wayfinder Real Estate and Read King Commercial Real Estate, the project’s developers.
This 348-unit apartment community forms a part of a larger, mixed-use development anchored by the Katy area’s latest H-E-B grocery store. The collaboration between Meeks Architects and Norris Design will bring an exceptional blend of landscaping and architecture to this multifamily community.
Amenities That Redefine Luxury
The Oak at Katy Park is not just about comfortable living spaces; it’s a lifestyle. Residents can look forward to a range of luxurious amenities, including:
- A resort-style pool
- A pickleball court
- Co-working space
- A sauna
- Outdoor kitchens and grilling areas
- A state-of-the-art fitness center
Rising Demand
Since early 2021, Katy area residents have leased nearly 6,000 more apartments than what developers have built, indicating a significant undersupply and a high demand for multifamily developments like The Oak at Katy. Furthermore, the demand for more retail spaces is set to rise with the construction of thousands of new single-family homes in the northwest quadrant and surrounding areas of Katy. This makes The Market at Katy Park a pivotal development, being the first grocery-anchored retail center north of I-10 and west of the Grand Parkway.
Cort King, Read King Managing Partner, highlights the strategic importance of this location: “The Katy Park and athletic fields already draw families from across the Katy area year-round, and the new H-E-B will attract a steady stream of customers seven days a week from the moment it opens. This location will quickly become one of the most trafficked intersections in the region and among the most desirable places for residents seeking apartments.”
